About the developer

Mark Brown is a video game journalist and critic. He is the creator of Game Maker’s Toolkit: an award-winning YouTube series about game design and development, with over 150 million views.

Mark is also a professional design consultant, gives guest lectures around the world to universities and game development studios, and has run eight successful game jams. He has contributed to publications like EDGE Magazine, Wired, and Polygon.

In September 2021, Mark announced that he was making his own game and would document the process from start to finish in a YouTube series called Developing.

Over the next three years he talked about learning how to use Unity, making prototypes, running playtests and gathering feedback, showing the game at the Game Developer’s Conference, and finishing the game.

This all culminated in the release of Mind Over Magnet.
